A DAY IN MY LIFE AT BAYLOR UNIVERSITY

A typical Thursday in the life of a Junior with a Journalism PR major and Apparel Merchandise minor at Baylor University looks like:

I wake up around 9am, and get ready for school

I usually eat breakfast at home, but I always make sure to treat myself with the amazing local restaurants all around Waco every once and a while such as Mamaka Bowls, Magnolia Table, Milo and so many more.

Around 12 I will head to my first class, American literature, where I get to discuss the books we read each week.

After that, I walk to my Fashion Consumer class where we learn all about how brands and consumers behave together in a fashion environment. I love this time of day when the weather is warm because I get to walk through Baylor’s beautiful campus. Due to Baylor having a smaller number of students, I also usually see at least one person I know and get to catch up with them on my way to my class. I love this aspect of Baylor. This is one of my favorite classes because it is so interesting, and I find what I’m learning I find myself using in my daily life.

These are my only two in person classes so after this I go home and usually read for my Law and Ethics class at 5pm.

I zoom into this class from 5-6pm and we have very intense discussions about media law and ethics and again, I learn very useful information that I do find myself using.

After this, I usually eat dinner with my roommates and talk about our days with each other. I have me my best friends here and I know they will always be in my life. The friendships Baylor has brought me is something I wouldn’t give up for the world.

Every Thursday at 8pm my roommate Carly and I watch our favorite show on Bravo, Summer House. But before this around 7:30 we head to one of our favorite places, Andy’s Frozen Custard, and get ice cream. This is our tradition that we will continue to do until we graduate. I love doing his with her because we are doing our own thing during the day and it is just an easy, fun way to get to spend some time with her.

This is what my Tuesdays and Thursdays look like, but my Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays look a little bit different. I made my schedule where I only have class on Tuesday and Thursday. On the other days of the week I like to take walks with my roommates to get some exercise and focus on my homework for the week. I love the flexibility with my schedule because it gives me specific days to focus on specific things.

This is what a typical school day at Baylor looks like for me, but everyone’s days here are different due to the abundance of diverse individuals that attend Baylor University.
